Winter Bluegrass Series: Jacob Jolliff & Max Johnson WSG Drive South

Doors: 7:30 PM Show: 8:00 PM Known as two of bluegrass' most amazing virtuosos of the younger generation, Jacob Jolliff (mandolin) & Max Johnson (double bass) have teamed up to present an evening of blazing bluegrass virtuosity, beautiful brother harmonies, and outstanding original music. Between the two of them, they have performed with Del McCoury, Sam Bush, David Grisman, Jerry Douglass, Chris Thile, and this summer have performed at DelFest, Northwest String Summit, GreyFox Music Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, John Hartford Memorial Festival, Blue Ox, Red Rocks, and other premiere venues. But, amid their seemingly nonstop touring schedules, Jake with Yonder Mountain String Band and his own namesake project, Max with the Jeff Austin band and his international jazz career, the two have decided to embark on a duo tour together. So don't miss this opportunity to hear two of bluegrass' finest players in a intimate exclusive setting." Opener: Drive South What do Freddy Fender, Ringo Starr, Gerry Rafferty and Drive South have in common? Roger Brown - a visionary songwriter whose versatility lends itself to this duo's creative take on Americana music. Mary Sue Wilkinson is a perfect complement to Roger, with a voice as pure as a Michigan stream and as warm as a southern night. These are two seasoned musicians known most recently as the core of country band The Wilenes (formerly Sister Wilene). Vocal duets featuring tight harmony singing are the perfect match for Brown’s accomplished finger style guitar work and Mary Sue's rock solid rhythm guitar playing.
